Police Officer

The City of St. Francis is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The City of St. Francis is a rapidly growing north metro community whose residents are predominantly supportive of its local law enforcement. The City is seeking individuals who are dedicated and willing to partner with the community to keep St. Francis a safe and enjoyable place to live and visit. Officer’s schedules typically consist of both 10 and 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off. Candidates must meet the minimum selection standards set by the Minnesota POST Board and be licensed or eligible to be licensed by date of offer. Candidates will be invited to participate in an interview process, will be subject to a medical and psychological exam, and must successfully pass a background investigation.

Current salary range is $29.92 - $39.52 which will include a 3% COLA increase and top patrol rate of $40.70 in 2024. Also included in the current Police Officer Labor Agreement is a $2,000 annual retention bonus in 2024. The City provides an excellent benefits package including health, dental, healthcare savings, and a 92 hour holiday bank which can immediately be utilized for PTO. Initial uniforms and equipment provided with an annual allowance of $700.00 thereafter. The department has implemented a physical and mental health wellness program which includes access to an on-site workout facility both on and off duty. Other opportunities include drone operator, Mobile Field Force team member, Field Training Officer, extensive training and certification opportunities, and various instructor roles.

Candidates with experience will have lateral entry into the police officer six step salary schedule. Experience will also be considered when determining vacation accrual rates.
