Licensing
All dogs must have a dog license issued by the St. Francis Police Department. The license is issued for as long as the rabies vaccine is valid. Must provide proof of rabies vaccination. A 1-2 year license has a cost of 10 dollars and a 3 year license has a cost of 15 dollars. The St. Francis Police Department accepts cash, check, or credit. Paying by credit does have an additional service charge of 2.75% of the total charged plus 50 cents.
Impounded/Lost Dogs
If a dog at large is contained, please call Anoka County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 763-427-1212 and the Animal Control Officer will come to pick up the dog.
To retrieve impounded dogs, owners can call Online Retrievers at 320-492-5865. The owner will be required to pay impound and maintenance fees upon receipt of the dog.
Wild Game
When a wild animal is spotted near a residence or public area, appropriate caution should be taken.
- Give the animal space
- Do not attempt to feed or harass the animal
- Do not attempt to move the animal
- If the animal is posing any danger to you or others call 911
