About St. Francis

Located along the northern edge of Anoka County, the City of St. Francis is a community that is still able to provide its residents with a small town feel while in the shadow of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.

St. Francis has been able to blend rural and city living into a unique community of approximately 8,100 people. Scenic areas along the Rum River and the realization of having one’s own hobby farm have tended to be two of the most common factors that lure people to this northern Anoka County community.

While not a boom town, St. Francis has seen its share of growth over the years. An even mix of urban style residential lots and large acreage hobby farms has provided the city with a number of quality housing developments.

The St. Francis area has a variety of recreational opportunities. The Rum River provides an exceptional setting for the canoeing and fishing enthusiasts. Located within the heart of St. Francis, the Rum River North Park provides easy access to the river.
