Fire Outreach and Education
The St. Francis Fire Department participates in many community events and educational opportunities to spread awareness and information that protects our families, homes and businesses. Our Team also works closely with other city departments and our local business to enhance safety.
Occasionally the Department has an opportunity to use a house or commercial structure planned for demolition as a controlled burn training. Several steps must take place before this can happen such as hazardous material assessment, work with the State Fire Marshall or other State agencies. Having the Department burn the structure still requires the owner of the property to remove the debris once it is safe and fill in any foundations and soil erosion controls. If you are interested in discussing a site for the Department to completed a controlled burn, contact the Fire Chief.
