Zoning Map Public Hearing

Several residents received a notice of a Public Hearing at the City Planning Commission on February 17th virtually through Zoom for updates to the City Zoning Map.  The changes to the Zoning map will not affect property taxes or value. The City is not looking to buy or develop your property.  There is no intent to force you from your home, to remove your buildings or at any time use eminent domain to take the property to force development.   The changes to the zoning district include updating the names of the district, consolidating districts to eliminate duplication and update properties to adhere to the approved 2040 Comprehensive Plan.   The public hearing will assist in answering questions and allowing residents the opportunity to receive clarification on zoning updates.  For information and the Zoom link to the Public Hearing, see the Planning Commission agenda, available 02/11/2021.
